Challenge

AccuWeather needed a partner capable of transforming their digital vision into an Android Automotive–compatible application that met strict AAOS design and safety standards. The solution needed to be both driver-focused and fully compliant with Google's guidelines.

Solution

TribalScale was brought on board thanks to our strong automotive and Android expertise. We worked closely with AccuWeather’s product team and Google to define features and product viability. Our design team conducted deep research on AAOS usability constraints, using Google’s Car App Library to craft driver-focused UX solutions. TribalScale’s Android engineers built the app with the AAOS ecosystem in mind, and our QA team tested extensively using head units to emulate in-vehicle performance.

  • Product Management: Defined core features and validated feasibility with engineers and Google stakeholders.

  • Design: Researched AAOS design needs, then created interfaces that champion ease-of-use while strictly following platform guidelines.

  • Development: Built the app using AAOS-specific tools and practices, ensuring safe, intuitive functionality for drivers.

  • Quality Assurance: Conducted comprehensive end-to-end testing via head unit emulators to ensure performance and correctness on the road.
